The Illini were hoping for a more successful weekend, but that was not to be. The Pride of Purdue Northwest had other ideas and proved that they were the better team winning both home and away games with scores of 7-0 and 4-0.

On Thursday night the Illini met up with the Pride in Hammond, Indiana for the first game of the series. Unlike the Pride skaters, the Illini were unable to find the back of the net. Halfway through the first period the Prides Noah Murphy put the first point on the board, backed up by a goal from teammate Jordan Degouw just seven minutes later. PNW added another pair of goals within the first five minutes of the second period, the first from Hayden Masloski, followed by Michael Clough. The Pride finished the night with three more goals in the third period, Craig Herman, Hayden Masloski, and Charlie Smith lighting the lamp. The Final Illini - 0, PNW - 7

On Friday evening the Illini welcomed in Purdue Northwest for the second game of the weekend series. The first period looked like it would end up scoreless, but with 47 seconds left the Pride's Jeremy Lochow put the puck past Illini goaltender Ben Mazurek making it 1-0 in favor of PNW. Illini penalties in the second period led to two Pride power-play goals just 55 seconds apart. Patrick Hays and Duncan McCourt finding the net. Hoping to get back into the game and with two Pride players in the penalty box, the Illini pull Mazurek out of goal in favor of a 6-on-3 advantage. Unfortunately that failed to help the Illini and allowed the Pride to score an empty net short-handed goal. The final score Illini - 0, PNW - 4.
